The Ghanaian Fugu Part II
Hello and Happy Wednesday ^_^
Welcome back to part II of The Ghanaian Fugu where I'm wearing the matching top half of the culottes from the previous post. If you haven't seen that post yet, pause and click here to go have a look and a read - there's a little back story that goes with this two part post that has a pretty good moral to it lol.. so please go have a cheeky read if you haven't already.
OK, are you back? Ok, cool ^_^
Just as the fugu shorts were basically the modern day culottes, so is this fugu top the modern day shift dress. How pretty is it though? I absolutely love it - the wide, flared sleeves, the details on the material, and the very convenient large pocket on the chest with an embroidered heart on it. Very cute. I initially styled it with a pair of khaki green heels because I had this idea in my mind of glamming it up but it just didn't look right. The relaxed look that the slippers gives to the whole outfit looks much better to me so here it is.
The only downside I've realised with the fugu (top & bottom) is that the material that its made with is a little heavy on the body. So if you decide to get or make an authentic one, do not wear it on one of the hottest days of the summer like I did ¬__¬
They're still great pieces for the summer but not when its scorching. Because you will sweat (I don't know how the men in Ghana do it tbh lol).
I think I'm going to make shopping in my mums old things (as well as her new things) a regular occurrence lol. Hope you guys have enjoyed this little cultural set of outfit posts and I hope you feel inspired to explore and embrace fashion from your heritage and culture wherever you're from!
Thanks so much for stopping by. Please leave your comments below, I'd love to know what you all think, honestly!
Have a blessed rest of the week and then weekend ^_^
P.S. do you like my hair? She's new to the family. If you do, I'm planning an upcoming hair related post that you'll definitely be interested in seeing. Stay Tuned!

Unfortunately there is no Shop My Look for this post. As hard as I tried, I could not find anything remotely similar to this fugu top. If any of you have come across anything like this please link in the comments and let me know about it. Thanks my loves! ^_^
