How to Shop for & Style the Men in your Life

Hi Beauties! Today's post is all about how to shop for and style the man/men in your life. I originally had this idea for Fathers Day in mind but it didn’t work out as planned so I’ve just decided to make it into a general Male styling Post. I took my brother shopping and put together some outfits for him to give you guys some tips and tricks on how to shop for and style the man/men in your life. The video and pictures are below but let's get into these tips first!

TIP#1

Make sure you have/know their correct sizings – this is an obvious one. Of course, you want to make sure what you’re getting will fit the receiver. This is also important when it comes to the type of clothing you are buying for them.

TIP#2

Get some sort of idea as to what they want and/or need. So this is something that I touched on on my Building Your Summer Wardrobe series; you need to evaluate the things you actually need and want in order to have a successful shopping trip. Think back to that one Christmas where someone gifted you something you had actually been needing or wanting. It works the exact same way when shopping for your boo or your brother - they'll appreciate you much more if you get things they actually want/need - rather than what you would like for them.

TIP#3

Consider how they dress themselves. There’s no harm in suggesting or introducing different styles in what you buy the man you are shopping for but don't go completely beyond their normal sense of style. You want to make sure that the items that you buy will look good or at least interesting to them, this way they'll be more inclined to give your shopping a chance.

TIP#4

If your partner is not into fashion and style and basically has no clue when it comes to putting together outfits, make sure to buy items that you can make outfits out of for him - so you can suggest how he might wear them. Make it easy for him - he'll appreciate it.

Shop at his favourite places to shop.

Consider his body type and skin tone? – what will suit him and compliment him the most?

TIP#7

Go shopping with him, get him involved and make the outfits together. Most guys hate shopping – or hate being dragged from store to store whilst their significant other shops – switch it up a bit and he might be more inclined to hit the stores with you – Literally be his personal shopper for the day.
