What 24 Looks Like

Word on the road, I'm the Birthday Girl

It's my birthdayyyy!

This here, is an impromptu post that I'm spontaneously writing at 04:11am on my birthday. I've ghosted my blog for the past few weeks now due to personal issues but I thought I should post something to commemorate turning 24.

Those who know me will tell you that I usually like to go in for my birthday celebrations because why not. A few years ago I rented out an apartment in Canary Wharf for me and my girlfriends, we had so much fun. This year, I'm not really motivated to do anything.  It's a whole lot of stuff going on in my personal life that makes me want to sit this one out.

Is it just me or does it seem like 24 is one of those 'meh' ages? I just feel meh about it. It's one year away from 25 and six years away from 30, yikes! I guess it's slightly scary because it makes you think 'what am I doing with my life?!' lol. I get those mini panic attacks thinking about what I haven't achieved yet turning 24 this year - not the best way to usher in any birthday by the way, do not do that. But the good thing is whenever I am feeling any type of way about where I am in my life and I start to feed into the devils lies, I just remind myself of what I wrote in my new years post - it really helps me to regroup and grasp whats really important at any given time.

So I am very grateful to see another year. As I wrote in my new years post, life in itself is more than enough to be grateful for! I have learnt so much about myself in the past year, and I have so much more to learn. One growing aspect of my life that I'm really excited for in my 24th chapter is my relationship with God. It is the only thing that has kept me any type of sane in the past month. So I'm going to forget all the extra ish. I'm alive, I'm well, and I'm 24 today!

This outfit I'm sporting is a two piece co-ordinate that my mother bought me when I was about 9 years old. Yes, it still fits, lol. I'm Benjamin Button out here. Anyway, I absolutely loved this outfit. I hadn't seen it for years until I came across it again the other day whilst clearing out my wardrobe. I think it still looks amazing and even more so now with my grown woman curves. It's giving me vintage feels. Props to my mum, she did well on this one.

So here's to a jam packed 24th chapter full of health, wealth, successes, friends, family, shoes, handbags, food, adventures, inspirations and more vim ^_^

Today also marks the 60th anniversary of Ghana's independence day, so if you are Ghanaian and reading this, Happy Independence Day sister/brother! I may just go out and celebrate the beauty of my people.

Let me know if you like the outfit!

If you're not already following me on instagram and twitter, you really should; @jwalkincloset. During my down time on the blog and YouTube, that's where you'll find me. I have some good, good content planned for later on this month, so please don't sleep on me! I just have to get my situation situated, ya know? lol.

Thanks for reading my muddled up thoughts, I'll see you back soon!

ALL THE LOVE X
