If any of you follow me on instagram and will recall, I posted a to-do list a few weeks back for my blog posts, and on it was an 'Inspired by Rihanna post'. So it was this picture [below] of Rihanna in all denim that caught my eye a while back on instagram and I thought I'd recreate it.
Originally I wanted to go for the mini skirt and boots just like her outfit however I soon found out that I didn't actually own a mini denim skirt fit for the purposes of recreating this look - I almost settled for one that belonged to my sister but my soul could not be satisfied with it because it was a darker shade of blue than my denim jacket - le struggle.
In the end I decided to modify the look and go for a longer denim skirt. It's taken a while because I have been hunting for the perfect denim skirt in the right shade of blue to complete my ensemble. I finally found it last week in Forever 21 for such a modest price. I love the button detail on the skirt which allows you to create a slit as high as you please, and also the frayed seams at the bottom compliment the ones on my denim jacket - it's like they were made to be worn together.
