Hello, hello, helloooo!
Episode 3 of #BuildingYourSummerWardrobe is finally up! Finally! I have been itching to finally doing it and getting up but setbacks have been a real thing. But it's finally here. Below I've set out my tips and tricks for going shopping in more detail for those of you who came here from my YouTube channel. If you haven't already seen it, peep the video below too ^_^
-KNOW WHAT YOU WANT/NEED-
To keep myself from being too distracted from everything in any given store, I try to make sure I have a clear idea of what I am looking for. I actually made a list, prioritising workwear - because that's what I really need considering I spend 8 hours of everyday at work - and then everything else followed. Because of this, I ended up purchasing more workwear than anything else on my list - meaning that everything else has now been postponed for the next shopping trip. As I mentioned in the previous episode, it's not absolutely necessary to get everything all in one go - take your time and spend wisely.
-DON'T FORGET ABOUT WHAT YOU ALREADY HAVE-
Always keep in mind what you already have. Ensure that the pieces you are buying can easily go with the rest of your clothes and can easily be matched with other clothing that you already have. Don't buy things that will end up collecting dust because it doesn't go with anything. If you must have that an item but you know you have nothing at home to piece it with; spend some more and complete the outfit. I mean, you might as well.
-TRY IT BEFORE YOU BUY IT-
Don't judge the clothing by how it looks on the hanger! Lol. Don't play yourself like I did with the striped trouser that I did not try on because I thought I could squeeze into a size 6 and then the damn thing refused to go past my thighs. If you think you like it on the hanger, no harm in ensuring that you love it on your body before you take it home - and you could be shocked.
-YOUR BUDGET-
Stay focused! I promise you'll love yourself for it when you get home. Just because you have a budget does not mean you need to spend it all - I cannot stress this enough - Don't force yourself to spend if there is nothing worth spending on. Save it and add it to your budget for the next shopping trip. It's probably better this way because new things come into stores everyday.
And if you do happen to hit your budget - STOP! Lol. Put your card away sis. If you've done well with your shopping, this wouldn't be an issue because you would be happy with your purchases and not be looking for more. If you do find yourself still wanting to spend over your budget then that might mean that you're not completely satisfied with what you've got. That's ok, take a mental note and it'll help on your next shopping trip.
Hope you guys somewhat enjoyed the video - episode 3 didn't go quite as planned but that's ok, not everyday perfectionist lol.
P.S. I would love some feedback on how you guys are finding this mini series so far - helpful? useful? fun? Let me know! I have loads more planned coming up so I hope you stay tuned. Have a blessed rest of the week!
ALL THE LOVE X
